Park Update: 7-10-08.  The park is still closed. Even though the parking lot is not flooded, many parts of the park are still covered in water. The park needs to dry out for a few more weeks before it can be reopened. The Club has scheduled a Clean up day for Saturday July 26th. Clean up will start at 8:00am. Please come out and help. The more people who show up and help, the faster the park can reopen. The club will be providing lunch. Bring chainsaws, shovels, rakes etc. The club now has a tractor and a skid loader. They were not damaged in the flood. The primary goal of the clean up day will be to provide as safe riding area!!!


New Meeting Place: The club meeting will be held at Brewsters in Solon IA. Brewster is located just south of Solon on Highway 1. See the events page for meeting time and date.

NEWS FLASH!!!!!     A new intermediate motorcross track has been built at the riding area.(a kiddie track and a A CLASS track are in the planning stages and
might be ready as early as this spring).the bathrooms now have a roof and some of the trails have been groomed. Please come out and enjoy the improvements!!!!!

 

Dirt Surfers is an Eastern Iowa area ATV and Motorcycle club.  We are a nonprofit organization with the cost of membership covering postage and printing for the monthly newsletter and other club related activities. In 2006 the Dirtsurfers partnered with the Iowa DNR to help manage and maintain the riding area in Ely Iowa. The Riding area formally known as 600 Acres is now called Lakeview OHV Park.

The club was formed in 1991 by area enthusiasts interested in preserving our right to ride and bringing together like-minded people to have a good time.

We are a family-oriented club and try to offer a wide variety of riding opportunities.  We try to have a club ride once a month at various riding parks around the state.  We also try to have two or three longer rides that may last several days and are typically out of state.  Some of the states we have ridden in are Indiana, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.  We ride year round, including two night rides each year and we also love playing in the snow and mud. Come and enjoy some great riding adventures with the Dirt Surfers.
